Two significant recent events have put the focus on solar as an important aspect of home renovation and building.

More than 11,000 scientists from around the world have declared a climate emergency, saying they had a “moral obligation” to speak out.

One of the solutions they advocate is acceleration in the transition to renewable energy.

Days later a major milestone in the march forward came with more than half Australia’s largest electricity market powered briefly by renewable energy for the first time. South Australia, a leader in renewables, was actually exporting green energy in this historic moment.

“Many people feel overwhelmed by continuing bad news from the climate change front,” says Adelaide’s Sharpe Energy-Hub’s David Sharpe. “But the good news is that installing or extending an existing solar system can make a huge difference, both to your hip pocket and the environment.”

Solar is starting to become an integral part of the building and renovation process. Recent studies show that adding solar increases a property’s value and makes it easier to sell.

Sharpe Energy-Hub has a huge range of solar options on display at its Port Road, Thebarton, showroom.

“It’s not as simple as throwing a bunch of solar panels on your roof and hoping for the best,” says Mr Sharpe.

“It’s vital to get a system that matches your particular needs. That’s why it’s so important to analyse your present energy use and use this as a basis for correct decision making.” Sharpe Energy-Hub has consultants ready to guide solar converts through the process.

All Sharpe Energy-Hub systems are installed and serviced by Sharpe’s own technicians, not subcontractors, to give reassurance regarding warranties and guarantees.
