SERVICE, QUALITY & HIGH STANDARDS

As a highly dependable local company serving Adelaide for over 30 years we wanted to advise how we are dealing with the demands of extreme hot weather – and how it affects our service, our technicians and our customers.

Sharpe-ERS are committed to doing everything reasonable to look after you during the heat waves we’re experiencing in Adelaide.

This January is looking like one of the hottest on record since 1908 !  The extreme heat puts enormous strain on families, individuals, our technicians, air conditioning equipment and the power networks.

During hot days, temperatures inside a roof space can easily approach 50 – 60 degrees Celsius.  Heat exhaustion and heat related illness is a very real risk for our technicians in these conditions.  Heat exposure on a roof is also a major concern.  We need to ensure we follow procedures which ensure the safety and health of our employees and that they aren’t exposed to unreasonable working conditions.

Another challenge we all face during extreme heat is the reliability of the power networks supplying your homes and businesses.

SA Power Networks do the best they can to maintain supply, but load shedding and unexpected power fluctuations do occur and unfortunately these can damage equipment. Air conditioning systems are very susceptible to damage from these types of issues.  We’ve even had cases where we’ve carried out repairs, and then subsequent voltage related damage has occurred after our repairs.

Managing the volume of phone calls and jobs also becomes extremely challenging during this period.

We have experienced many cases where clients have booked with several air conditioning companies and then cancelled all but one of them.  This makes scheduling very difficult and adds to the already stretched resources of our service staff.   As a business it’s very difficult to plan in advance to triple the size of our service staff over hot weeks.  This unfortunately means that occasionally we can’t respond to customer enquiries as quickly as we would like, and would normally do.

We are attending to parts quotations and bookings as quickly as possible under the current conditions.

We have exhausted our stocks on hand and are working closely with suppliers to ensure stocks arrive as quickly as possible.  Our suppliers experience longer lead times on parts and quotations during hot months as their resources are also stretched.

Our highest priority is making sure our loyal clients receive the absolute best service possible, and we hope this explanation does help to put our current situation in perspective.

We will process all enquiries as quickly as possible without compromising the quality and attention to detail that has built our reputation over the past 30 years.
