Lack of Evaporative Air Conditioning Service damages East Adelaide Business

In September of last year, a business in the Eastern Suburbs suffered $30,000 of damage from a fire started by a faulty Evaporative Cooler.

Whilst the building was saved, there was extensive damage to both the roof and the air conditioning unit.

The owners had recently opened up the air conditioner in response to rising spring temperatures, but a severe fault caused the fan motor to overheat, sparking the blaze.

The Metropolitan Fire Service urges all Evaporative air conditioner owners to ensure their systems are annually serviced to prevent unit damage and fires.

Spring Smell Solution

If you use your evaporative air conditioner for prolonged periods, you may start to notice a pungent smell from the ducting.

This occurs because the inside of your unit provides ideal conditions for the growth of bacteria and other organisms.

The constant transport of air helps spread spores and bacteria, leading to mould health-effects.

Evaporative air conditioner owners can solve this problem by getting an Easy-Dose Sanitiser Cartridge installed in their system. This is an effective long-term solution for both removing and preventing micro-organisms
