Get Power Insurance

How does a surge arrestor work? Put simply, it protects appliances and electronics against sudden voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes, downed power lines or faulty household wiring.

What’s the best type to have? One installed in your switchboard. Think of it as your first line of defence as it stops a surge of power entering your house. The second line of defence could be to have them also installed at power points that crucial appliances are plugged into.

How is a surge arrestor different to a circuit breaker and safety switch? A surge arrestor protects against voltage spikes. A circuit breaker protects against circuits getting overloaded, such as having too many appliances plugged into one power point. A safety switch protects the user against electrocution.

So I need all three then to get full protection? Yes but we can save you time and money with our switchboard upgrade packages. For example, we can supply and install a combination safety-switch/circuit-breaker in your switchboard.
