Gas Wall Furnace Heaters

Gas Wall Furnace Heaters supply, install and service:

A gas wall furnace is a type of heating system.  It is a slimline furnace that is mounted on the wall to heat either one room or two rooms (depending on if it’s single or double sided) and it is powered using natural or bottled gas.  The wall furnace can be fully ducted to the outside so you don’t have to worry about fumes building up in your living spaces but it is also available in an unvented model. Unvented models have indicators that show if the carbon monoxide levels are reaching dangerous levels but you should always be careful to use them in well ventilated rooms, regardless.

Gas Wall Furnace Heaters – Adelaide

Gas wall furnaces project heat directly into the room in which they are installed.  They work by drawing in cool air through the top of the furnace, heating the air in a chamber, and then blowing the heated air out into the room from the bottom louvres.  The air is circulated using an electric fan.  They come in two different sizes, a smaller and a larger model.

Maintenance and Services of Gas Heaters

Gas Wall Furnace Heaters should have maintenance done regularly to ensure that they run smoothly and safely.

Gas heaters need to be professionally installed and serviced by a trained and qualified gasfitter. An unsafe heater can cause a house fire or pollute your home with dangerous fumes including carbon monoxide. Having your gas heater serviced at a minimum of every two years by a qualified gasfitter, can help keep your family safe.

Sharpe Services take pride in our quality service and believe in maximising the life span of your wall furnace.

Our service includes the following:

  • We will check all electrical connections for any wear and tear.
  • We will remove the covers and assess the condition of the gas wall heater.
  • We will clean the inside of the wall heater including the cover.
  • We will check the operation of the pilot assembly and piezo igniter (system dependent)
  • We will check and clean the dust build up from around the fan assembly.
  • We will check and clean the flame sensor (system dependent)
  • We will check the igniter and adjust the spark gaps where required.
  • We will check the capacitor to ensure the motor is operating within specified current range.
  • We will check the gas burner pressures and set if necessary.
  • We will ensure the flue is operating correctly and taking away harmful gasses from the system.
  • We will perform a carbon monoxide test to ensure there are no harmful gases present in your home.
  • We will complete a full function test.

Besides offering unparalleled comfort, gas wall furnaces are also the most elegant heating systems (next to fireplaces) to complement a range of interior design styles. The cabinets are available as inbuilt and console models in a range of colours and finishes, depending on the manufacturer; high quality brands also feature cool-to-touch exteriors, so placement isn’t dictated by safety or proximity to other furnishings.

There are a few advantages to choosing gas wall furnaces as your new heating system. The first is that they can heat up larger rooms with ease, making them perfect for open plan living areas, where regular space heaters may struggle. If you choose a two sided model, you can heat two rooms at the same time, giving you greater flexibility.  For example, you could heat the kitchen and dining room on one side, and the lounge room on the other.  The gas wall furnace is operated using a simple control panel located high on the device.  You can set the furnace to heat the room to your desired comfort level.

Energy Efficiency & Operating Costs

Gas wall furnace heaters prices are competitive with other flued gas heaters for sale. Gas wall furnace heaters are flued gas heaters that are built into the wall.
They frequently have heat output vents on both the visible side and the wall of the adjacent room, with the vent just passing through the wall.

Most models are available in either LPGbottled gas or natural gas wall heaters.

Because they use natural gas, you can be assured that your gas wall furnace is actually quite an efficient form of heating. They burn the gas cleanly to produce heat, and the cost of gas is usually much lower than the cost of electricity.  While electricity is needed to power the fan, very little is used, so it does not add much on to the cost of operating the heater at all.

Whats size Gas Heater do I need?

Once you have decided on a gas wall heater, you need to know what size is most suitable. Sharpe Services can provide the answer. We will visit your home, view and measure your room, look at the height of your ceiling and the size of any windows and advise you on the wall heater that can best do the job.

All types of gas heaters should be serviced a minimum of every two years by a licensed gasfitter and tested for carbon monoxide spillage. This includes all central heating units, space heaters, wall units and gas log fires. Only use a licensed gasfitters who have completed training on detecting and correcting risks of carbon monoxide spillage.
