When did you LAST SPRING CLEAN?

I guess I should start thinking about opening up my evaporative air-conditioner for the warmer weather.

Too right. But it’s not just a matter of taking off the cover and turning it on. Here’s a system at Morphett Vale we were called to look at last spring. Neglected servicing meant the filter had blown apart and some ducting had disintegrated. The best policy is to engage a qualified technician to check and adjust your evap system before each summer season. Sharpe technicians can ensure both electrical safety and operating efficiency, including water use. And then there is the matter of hygiene.

Please tell me more?

Filters and pads need to be cleaned or replaced and the water reservoir flushed and refilled. While the risk of contracting legionnaire’s disease from evaporative coolers is minimal there are potential risks of airborne bacteria and algae health hazards in poorly maintained systems.

So what can I do to prevent this?

Ensure the filters are kept clean. If you need new filters we can supply and install a set from $495.

What other cleaning products do you supply?

Our Easy-Dose sanitiser helps prevent airborne bacteria. It costs just $33 and lasts all season. As a follow-up our Odour Block costs $75 and is installed in ducting to neutralise smells. We can also supply a more general-purpose Odour Gel in a tub. Both products attack odour-causing compounds rather than just masking the smells.

Let us pull the wraps off your Evaporative Cooler for Summer

An annual Evaporative Cooler Open Up, Service and Check will help you avoid safety issues, and ensure the systems are at their most efficient for the hot weather.

A Sharpe Plumber will Inspect, Test & Report on your Evaporative cooler – including filters, fans, pumps, float valves and water feed and drainage.
