Winter warning on power points

Now we are in the depths of winter Sharpe Services is getting a rush of emergency calls relating to electrical issues.

Earlier this week we responded quickly to a property at Grange that had a sudden loss of power to some parts of the house.

Sharpe’s certified electrician Mark soon tracked the problem down to an external waterproof power point that had been overloaded, causing a short circuit. Black singe marks confirmed what Mark’s specialist diagnostic equipment had discovered.

Like all electrical components, external waterproof power points are subject to possible overloading. Sometimes it is caused by a faulty appliance, such as a failing hot water system. It can also be caused by an electrical surge or water leaks

Winter storms put a huge strain on electrical systems. That’s why Sharpe Services’ 30 vans are on standby to be anywhere in Adelaide within the hour for electrical or plumbing emergencies.
