One of the biggest issues that develop over time is cables coming loose as a result of the minuscule but long-term vibration set up by this constant flow of current.

Signs that this is happening can vary from a slight humming or buzzing sound to an unidentifiable burning smell of plastic.

Nearly all new builds and renovations 10 years or newer should be up to date with the current safety regulations.

Switchboard fires can quickly destroy property as flames climb up the wall cavity into the roof space. So don’t take chances.

Safety switches should be tested every three months to make sure they are operating. But are they protecting the circuits their label says? Only a licensed professional can confirm this.

Having the correct safety devices in your switchboard should eliminate the risk of electrocution and fires but the overall system is only as strong as its weakest link.
