The high temperatures produced can easily ignite debris or highly flammable insulation in the ceiling. Certain forms of insulation can also move and change shape over time, meaning there can be a potential fire risk lurking in your home.
LEDs operate at much lower temperatures so offer a much safer alternative.
Installation depends on the standard of the original downlight installation but it should be a simple changeover. If you’ve never had downlights Sharpe Services can install a complete new system. As LED globes don’t need transformers, the installation process is less complicated than halogens.
