To our horror, we realised there was no regulator fitted to the supply line. As well, the unit was connected to the gas supply using several non-compliant fittings. A regulator ensures the exact amount of gas is being delivered safely to the cooktop. It is a vital part of the system and its safety. Running without one is as crazy as driving around in a car that’s leaking petrol all over the exhaust. Of course, all this was hidden away below the bench top, unseen and potentially lethal.
