SERVICE, QUALITY & HIGH STANDARDS

Regular inspection & testing would have picked this up long before the heat of summer.

What happened here? We got a call when the air-conditioner in this northern suburbs family home stopped working. We found wiring had caught fire because cabling was crushed behind the inspection cover. It could have been a bad original installation or clumsy work by a service technician. Regular inspection & testing would have picked this up long before the heat of summer. This young family was lucky. If there had been leaves & debris behind the cover it could have resulted in a house fire.

Would that have been a real disaster? Every summer the same thing happens. A major building fire is sparked by a faulty air-conditioning unit and fire authorities issue another warning about the importance of regular checks and servicing of household cooling systems. Another important consideration is ensuring that your reverse-cycle is wired into the appropriate switchboard circuit to prevent electrical overload.

Air-conditioners are pretty reliable aren’t they? They are. Current-technology reverse-cycle cooling-heating systems are durable, quieter running and more energy efficient. But they need regular servicing to ensure all components are safely running within factory specifications.

So how did this job end up? We can usually repair broken air-conditioners, but with so much burnt wiring a new unit was required. We have a comprehensive range of replacement options so the owners got the best unit for their situation.
